- My point was that although _Mona Lisa Overdrive_ holds together (in my opinion)
- as a novel better than _Neuromancer_ does, _Neuromancer_ is still a more
- impressive work because in addition to being a damn good bit of fiction, it
- more or less defined the field of "cyberpunk" sf, whereas _Mona Lisa
- Overdrive_, also a damn good read, is merely a novel in the field of
- "cyberpunk" sf.
- Although I'd hate to overstate the case by grandiose metaphor, it's sort of
- like Johnson's _Dictionary_.
