- Not amnesia gas, gas that "destroyed their memories". Subtle but telling
- difference. After all, if you have amnesia, A: you may one day get better, B:
- you retain things like language skills etc. Amnesia makes life hard, but
- doesn't make it impossible.
- With their memories destroyed, they're as good as dead, as individuals.
- The identities that once had are *dead*. They have the knowledge base of
- newborns without the learning capability. They'll never be the same again. In
- fact, if the memory was physically destroyed, they just lost the *ability* to
- remember. WAY crueler than death. They're perma-vegged.
- Gee, we now have (Count) Vertigo and Poison Ivy...Suicide Squad anyone?
