  36. I don't know what basis we are using to judge 'DUMB' but the type of cartoon
  37. *I* hate has the following formula:
  38.        1. pick any cute creature
  39.        2. make an enormous number of them
  40.        3. give each a distinct trait but keep them relatively the same
  41.        4. insert standard bad guy
  42.        5. mix and serve
  43. This mold is good for: Smurfs, Snorks, Monchichis, Pound Puppies, Care Bears,
  44.   Trolkins, whatever those things on the Smoggies are called, Popples, etc.

  46. My own personal vote for dumbest cartoon, however, is any of the 'a video game
  47. would make a great cartoon' tries: Donkey Kong, Q-bert, Frogger, Pac-man, 
  48. Pitfall, Donkey Kong Jr., Space Ace, Kangaroo.....

  50. Incidently I *liked* Hong Kong Phooey.  And Jaberjaw and Captain Caveman?
  51. Well the star characters weren't bad, but I like comparing all the similar
  52. style cartoons ie:

  54.    Take Scooby-Doo replace the dog with a car and you have SpeedBuggy, replace
  55.    the car with a shark and you have Jaberjaw, replace the shark with a
  56.    caveman and you have Captain Caveman, take out the caveman put back the
  57.    dog but give him a hat and make him blue and you have Goober and the Ghost
  58.    Chasers, lose the dog and add a werewolf and you have Fangface, change
  59.    the werewolf to a ghost and you have the Funky Phantom, make the whole
  60.    gang musicians and you have Josie and the Pussycats, add a genie...well
  61.    you get the idea. :)

  63. Oddly enough I kinda of like this use of a mold.  I guess lower cute quotient
  64. helps.
