  22.     It's more than just dumb. Somehow, I don't think that this is
  23. what the NAACP and other groups had in mind when they clamored for
  24. more positive presentations of minorities on children's television.

  26.     As far as the other shows people have been mentioning, It's
  27. true that most anything from H-B in the 70's was truly tedious, though
  28. I haven't seen anyone mention some of the really dreadful stuff.

  35. (That show with the fat, incompetent genie who said "Yabble-Dabble!")

  37. As for cheesy non H-B stuff, I heartily recommend USA's Cartoon
  38. Express.  Where else could you experience the exquisite horror of
  39. watching Sport Billy and Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch back to back?

  41. However, to see some really awful stuff, try looking at the late-70's
  42. to the mid-80's, when an unholy alliance of watchdogs and licensing
  43. agents seemed to control programming and things went down the toilet.
  44. I was worrried at one point that the networks would bet rid of
  45. cartoons altogether.  Some "great" shows from that era:

  47. Pandemonium
  48. Monchihis
  49. any of the Ruby-Spears arcade game shows
  50. Meatballs and Spaghetti
  51. The Getalong Gang
  52. and the list goes on and on....
  53. (I don't remember too many becuause even as a ten year-old I couldn't
  54. stand watching them.)
