  18. I thought her name sounded like Randa (for random access maybe?, that
  19. was certainly her function).  You didn't give us a chance to answer your
  20. quiz here :-).  As several others have already pointed out, RUR is from
  21. Karl Capek's "Rossum's Universal Robots". Keeping up with the references
  22. in this one (Dr. Karl Rossum, with Sabastian's voice yet, the
  23. Terminator-like construction process) was a full time job.  The one I
  24. want to mention that nobody has pointed out yet was the appearance of
  25. the one type of the robot skeleton, the one that first appeared as the
  26. trash can following Barbara.  It's a design out of a Fleisher Superman
  27. cartoon, more recently used repeatedly by Miyazaki in a Lupin episode
  28. and in Laputa.
