- Oleg et al,
-
- I read recently that a form of brine shrimp can be found in Mono Lake,
- Ca. (Very near the Nevada State line, east of the Sierra range about
- two hours south of Lake Tahoe).
-
- The name 'Mono' is a local indian word for the dried shrimp, which was
- part of their diet, the lake has been described as 'liquid rock' due to
- salt and mineral content.
-
- I plan to go there to take a look next spring, maybe take a net and
- bucket along, too.
-
- Anyone know if the shrimp are suitable for aquarium fish?
- (I plan to ask at the ranger station to see if taking the shrimp is
- allowed).
