  11. Another distilled water question again.  Does anyone see any pitfalls using
  12. DW mixed in with my conditioned tap water when doing water changes in order to
  13. aquire softer water with a lower pH in the tank.  My pH is about 7.8+ and the
  14. water is hard  (I dont know the exact hardnesses).  When I tested the DW, it
  15. gave 6.6.  I guess what I really want to do is to lower my tap waters buffering
  16. capacity, since getting the pH down is not as easy as just adding some pH down.
  17. Would using peat in my aquaclear be a better idea?  Any comments or suggestions
  18. would be appreciated.  Thanks
