- SUMMARY OF DUTIES
-
- In a project based research and development environment, and under the
- direction of a project manager, provides administrative support services such
- as organizing and establishing software, hardware and documentation control
- systems, and related records systems; provides systems operations support for
- a variety of systems ranging from stand-alone PCs, to LANs, and multi-user
- computer systems; installing and evaluating or assisting in the evaluation of
- new hardware and software; writing procedural and other documentation for
- divisional systems; and, other related duties.

- QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION
-
- Successful completion of two or more semesters of post-secondary school
- education at the university or community college level in an information or
- communications technology related field such as computer science, library
- science, or business administration.

- LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
-
- Proficiency in the use of the English language is essential for this position.

- EXPERIENCE
-
- Completion of at least one previous work term; experience in working in an
- information service related field; and, experience in producing written
- reports is required. Experience in the use of MS/PC-DOS based computers is
- required. Experience in one or more of MS Windows, Novell Netware, and UNIX
- is desirable.

- KNOWLEDGE
-
- Knowledge of administration principles, procedures and practices as they
- relate to the organization and administration of an information service
- system. Knowledge of the operation of microcomputers is required.

- ABILITIES

- Ability to organize, schedule and plan work assignments, set priorities and
- make most effective use of time and resources to meet deadlines with a
- minimum of supervision. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and
- in writing; to deal with vendors and others both inside and outside the
- organization to obtain information; and, to prepare and write both informal
- memoranda and complex formal reports.
