  24. Established in 1976, Andyne Computing has been providing innovative software 
  25. products and consulting services to industry and government for over 15 years. 
  26. Building on applied research and development contracts in computer systems and 
  27. software engineering, Andyne has established itself as a world leader in the 
  28. development of graphical data access and reporting tools.

  30. Andyne currently has an opening for a full time research assistant. Andyne 
  31. performs research in two main areas, Formal Systems and Verification, and Human 
  32. Computer Interaction. Our research in HCI covers a wide range of issues, but
  33. focuses primarily in the area of multimodal dialogue and the development of
  34. tools to augment the process of dialogue analysis, and design of user
  35. interfaces. Various methods and tools are used during our research and 
  36. include Object Oriented Technology, (OOA, OOD, and implementation in 
  37. Smalltalk 80 and Smalltalk/V, Nexpert Object, and Prograph); Unix utilities 
  38. including sed, awk, and perl; C (both MPW C and Think C), HyperCard, and 
  39. Excel. Hardware includes Macintosh and Sun Workstations. The ideal 
  40. candidate would possess education in the areas of Computer Science, Psychology,
  41. and Mathematics. A candidate with a post graduate degree is preferred, but 
  42. strong candidates with an undergraduate degree will also be given serious 
  43. consideration. We are looking for individuals who have research experience, 
  44. are self starters, can work independently on a variety of tasks, and can 
  45. communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Familiarity with at 
  46. least some of the above methods, tools, and hardware is essential.
