  18.  Major hardware upgrade POSTPONED until: Tuesday 1/12/92 - Thursday 3/12/92

  20.   The current Library System hardware, an Ultimate 3040, is being
  21. upgraded to an Ultimate 7020 which will provide a noticeable
  22. performance improvement and more capacity.
  23.  
  24.   Due to unforeseen circumstances Ultimate Computer are unable to
  25. deliver the Ultimate 7020 this week.  So the upgrade has been
  26. rescheduled for next week.

  28.   The interruptions to service are as follows:

  30.   o  09:00 Tuesday 1/12/92 - 08:30 Wednesday 2/12/92

  32.   Only the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) will available.  All
  33. library internal functions, circulation, cataloguing etc, will be
  34. restricted while the system is backed up onto tape.

  36.   o  08:30 Wednesday 2/12/92 - 12:00 Thursday 3/12/92

  38.   All system functions unavailable while new hardware and cabling is
  39. installed, network equipment reconfigured, the system restored from
  40. tape and an operating system upgrade performed.
