  13. Yes, it's time to sell the WonderCar[tm]...

  15. Back in '87, I purchased the WonderCar from two MIT gradual students
  16. who were moving west.  It has been a wonderful vehicle, and though it
  17. is humble compared to my new Accord, it has served well, and I have
  18. maintained it with care.  And so as it comes time to part with it I do
  19. so with a bit of sadness.

  21. Perhaps some student couple will buy it so that it can spend its final
  22. years among two friends and a cat...  Maybe a small non-profit will
  23. buy it for transportation to rallies... perchance a cyclist will
  24. decide a heater would do some good this winter...

  28. It is a White 1985 Ford Escort, 5 speed manual transmission.
  29. It has travelled 82,500 miles, much of that highway.

  31. It has just had a brake system overhaul, and within the last year I
  32. have replaced the starter, muffler+pipe, and done various small fixes.
  33. I have changed the oil every 3000 miles or sooner.

  35. The heater and AM/FM radio work well.  It is a front-wheel drive car
  36. with a manual transmission, so it gets good traction in snow.  The
  37. tires have a good year or more left on them.

  39. It passed inspection easily in June, even before the fixes I have done
  40. to prepare it for sale.

  42. The body has a few dings and small dents, but very little rust.  The
  43. battery is also relatively new, with 36 months of warranty left.

  45. This car is solid basic transportation; Nothing fancy, but good
  46. payload capacity for a car this size.

  48. For a serious buyer I am willing to drive the car to your mechanic for
  49. a pre-sale inspection. I also have fairly complete service records.
