- The Fed. Tax instruction booklet clearly says contributions to foreign
- organizations are NOT deductible. The representative might be
- misinformed or lying. IRS keeps a list of all tax deductible
- organizations. You can call them up to see if your interested
- organiation is on the list. The number is 1-800-829-1040 or just
- 839-1040 for San Francisco or Oakland residents.

- A personal opinion: I would not donate a large sum out right. May be a
- hundred dollars the first time. Then I would like to see some results
- (personal visit reports from friends or at least an annual report.) It
- is unfortunate that there are crooks out there prying on people's good
- will.
