  22. What is this thing about men and long hair??  I had long hair for years,
  23. caving in to pressure from the various men in my life.  My husband 
  24. would protest vehemently when I threatened to cut my hair.  I myself
  25. had no particular attachment to the stuff, and always worried that
  26. it would become my most prominent feature ("Oh, yes, Judy Drake.  She's
  27. the one with the wild hair."  These words were actually said.)

  29. In my case, having kids coincided with standing up to my husband about
  30. my hair, which resulted in getting it cut short (I mean short--I told
  31. my hairdresser to cut it just long enough so it doesn't stick straight
  32. up.)  It was a coincidence, but the short hair does work well with kids.  
  33. I look better, too.  My husband got over it.

  35. Short hair really has its advantages.  For the first time in my life,
  36. I could go skiing and not have all my hair stick to my lip balm.

  38. I figured there are two secrets in life that men have been reserving 
  39. for themselves.  I have discovered them and now won't give them up.
  40. They are:  1) comfortable shoes and 2) short hair.
