- I've noticed that their bubbly bibs (which I love) have an interesting
- fit. Robin (21.5 lbs and 28") is a size 70 - and the size 70 bibs fit,
- but they're a bit on the short size in the leg. I have a pair of size
- 60 bibs that *still* fit on his torso, although they look like
- knickers. He's also got a pair of size 80 bibs - they are long in the
- leg, but ok because of the elastic.
-
- Now, the plus -- Robin is a umm, chunky 'lil' guy. But the Hannas,
- even the 60's, fit him fine in the torso, and he's in cloth diapers. I
- put him in some Oshkoshes the other day, and had to take them back
- off! He couldn't sit in them!
-
- Hanna has now made some striped pants out of interlock knit instead of
- the rib knit - those should stand up better. The nice thing about the
- rib knit (yes, I was suprised the first time I saw it, too, it is
- thin) is that it is really soft and stretchy. I've found that I can
- dress the kids 1 size too big in the rib turtlenecks and they still
- work then. And the fabric doesn't pill as much as other fabrics,
- although I've taken to washing them in a gentle wash instead of
- regular one. It's probably best for my other clothes, too.
-
- As for the fading, my kids are in lots of 100% cotton clothing, and
- putting any of their stuff in chlorine bleach would fade them
- appreciably, except for the prints on white. I've found that using the
- Amway laundry products (I'm not associated with Amway!) specificially,
- the non chlorine bleach and the enzyme booster, has helped a lot in
- removing stains from the family laundry without removing color.
-
- Now, putting most 50/50 garments in a chlorine bleach load won't fade
- the colors much, and takes out most stains....
-
- I wash my Hannas warm, with like colors. I wash any of the items my
- kids have with white on them in a *light* load, not with the darks -
- even if it's red and white. The red obviously won't bleed, or it
- couldn't be used with white right next to it. The same with light
- colored stripes. That way the light colors don't get discolored by
- other dark laundry that might give off some dye.
-
- oops, I think I've gone over my character limit... :-)

-
- PS - Petit Bateau also makes clothing with the same kind of soft,
- stretchy ribknit. I don't know if their prices are any better, but the
- stuff also washes and wears well, and Sew Natural Fabrics by Mail has
- some of it in stripes in stock for $3? a yard...
