- 27607. I am in the process of completing a double major in Science
- Education (specialty area biology) and Microbiology and a minor in
- Genetics. I will receive a bachelor of science in Science Education
- and a bachelor of science in Microbiology as well as a minor in
- Genetics in May, 1993.

- WORK EXPERIENCE

- Microbial Genetics Laboratory, Microbiology Department, North Carolina
- State University, Raleigh, North Carolina 27607. This position was
- created by my participation in a course, Special Problems in
- Microbiology, offered by the North Carolina State University
- microbiology department during the summer of 1992. This particular
- project in which I was involved, oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis
- of T4 phage, has been an ongoing project directed by Dr. Eric Miller
- and Catherine Jozwik of the North Carolina State University
- microbiology department. I assisted Mrs. Jozwik in a number of
- laboratory duties including: making media plates, growing over-nights
- of bacteria and phage, DNA template extraction and precipitation, DNA
- spectrophotometric analysis, annealing of oligonucleotide to our
- template, running agarose gel electrophoresis on samples, and
- electroporation using selected DNA samples.
