  19. Dolphin Software Inc. is a high-technology consulting and contracting firm  
  20. located in the Bay Area with immediate plans to expand into the southern  
  21. California area.  We are now seeking employees and consultants to facilitate

  25. particularly of Information Management Systems.  Our current market includes

  27. shrink-wrapped software market in the longer term.

  45. All Dolphin Software employees must demonstrate a wide range of skills.  We  
  46. have no illusions about trying to fit everyone into a specially designed  
  47. slot, but rather work to expand the experience and skill of each person in  
  48. the company.

  50. Our current needs are for dynamic individuals able to take a project in its  
  51. entirety.  A significant commitment to off-site consulting and travel must be  
  52. available for our consultants.  Our Bay Area and southern California  
  53. employees can look forward to challenging in-house development, spending  
  54. limited amounts of time at client sites.  Opportunities for high compensation  
  55. in return for dedicated work "over and above" the commonplace position exist.

  57. Required Skills
  58. -------- ------
  59. 1. At least 1+ years of NeXTSTEP development, either professionally or on a
  60.    "personal" basis.  An understanding of the NeXT and Mach environments, 
  61.    with complete skills in the use of Interface Builder and the NeXTSTEP API 
  62.    are needed.  Most importantly, a strong commitment to NeXT and an even 
  63.    stronger desire to work with the NeXTSTEP platform.

  65. 2. More than 2+ years of development using Objective C or C++, and a very
  66.    thorough understanding of Object Oriented Design and Object Oriented
  67.    Programming principles.  Expert knowledge of constructors and destructors,
  68.    operator and function overloading, virtual functions, polymorphism, static
  69.    members and similar concepts required (as apply to C++); also, dynamic
  70.    binding, messaging, methods, classes, categories, remote messaging and
  71.    protocols (as apply to Objective C) is excellent.

  73. 3. More than 2+ years development in the UNIX workstation environment, with
  74.    work in IPC, multiprocessing and multithreading a plus.  Abilities in
  75.    system administration and networking also a strong plus.

  77. 4. Dynamic personality and ability to present yourself well at the client
  78.    site.  Ability and willingness to travel to varying degrees, depending on 
  79.    your position within the company.

  81. 5. Capable and willing to put forth an extra effort when required.

  83. 6. B. S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical
  84.    discipline, or a comparable level of experience gained from within the
  85.    programming field.

  87. Beneficial Skills

  89. 1. Strong background in information management technologies, such as Document
  90.    Management Systems, Relational Database Systems, Object Oriented File
  91.    Systems, and the like.
  92.  
  93. 2. Thorough understanding of specific database languages and systems, such as
  94.    SQL, Sybase and Oracle.  Object oriented database experience is excellent.

  96. 3. Experience with X/Windows, Motif, MS-Windows or Macintosh programming.

  98. 4. Advanced degree in the computer science field.
