- Dave,
- Maybe you have a bio-mechanical problem?
- My right foot tends to tense-up. This causes the right calf to tense.
- The result is lack of power in the toe-off. The other leg tries to
- compensate, etc. Either calf winds up sore, or pulled. This senario is
- caused by the right foot trying to hold the knee in alignment.
- (muscles under too much strain tend to cramp.)
- The lower leg should be relaxed in-between strides, and consistant
- between both legs.
- My problem took some years to develop and longer for me to understand.
-
- As an aside, stretching can cause pulls. Try not stretching and jog
- slowly to warm up muscles. Also massaging before you start works.
