- Man! All this talk of calf-raises and special shoes and squats and
- etc...
-
- I'll tell you an amazingly well kept secret on how to jump higher,
- farther and quicker:
-
- JUMP.
-
- Yup. That's it. JUMP. If you want to improve your kill shot in tennis,
- do you do some specialized curls, and then weighted push-ups? No! You
- practice the kill shot. If you want to jump higher, do excercises which
- are essentially jumps! Try doing interval/wind-sprint workouts on a
- football field, and mix in some jumps. Start at the goal line and jump
- on one leg out to the 50 and back on the other leg. You should feel a
- real burn in your quad and calf. Feel it? good. Now more jumps! Try
- hopping on both legs (standing broad jump) (ooh, that sounds racy!)
- out to the 50 and sprint back. Again! etc...
-
- I know several semi-pro volleyball players who are very concerned
- with how high they can jump, and for how long they can continue.
- These are the excersises they do. There are more, but you get the
- idea.
-
- Cheers,
