- The anticipator tries to compensate for the thermal lag of the thermostat
- and the wall that it is attached to. It does this by running a current
- through a small heating element built into the thermastat. A lower number
- allows more current to flow and the thermastat will heat up faster.

- The whole idea is for the thermastat to heat up at the same rate as the
- air in your house, that is not undershoot nor overshoot.

- If the heater is cycling often as you describe, then the anticipator is
- set too low.

- depends on several factors that will change with each installation.
