  12. My husband and I recently bought a house with hardwood floors in need of
  13. refinishing, and we'd like to know what we'll need to do to refinish them.

  15. We know we'll need to sand them down, and then put a layer of wax or
  16. polyurethane or some such thing.  We're also considering taking up the
  17. carpet in the hall and one of the bedrooms-- what does that involve.

  19. What we'd really like is a book that goes into great detail about what 
  20. is involved, and the pros and cons of any different approaches.  Any 
  21. references would be appreciated.
