- Sorry, I've been out of town & just noticed this. Jim may well be correct,
- but there is another possibility. These designs often (always?) have
- electrical heaters in the same tube bundle with the evaporator coils.
- This heater is supposed to periodically come on to defrost the evaporator
- coils. When the heater fails (and they sometimes do) the evaporator
- will build up heavy frost to the point that the air flow to the chill
- section can become completely blocked. A 3rd (but less likely) possibility
- is a low refrigerant charge.
