  24. I've done several kitchens both ways, but always with vinyl rather than
  25. ceramic. Given a choice, I always put the vinyl down first to avoid cutting.
  26. Similarly, when I put in a second bath in my house, I put in marble (which
  27. is close to the biggest mistake I ever made), and I put it down first. I
  28. find it makes all the joints look neater.

  30. On the issue of wasted tiles under the cabinets. Why not leave the area under
  31. the cabinets untiled. You can tack down strips of wood the same thickness as
  32. the tile to support the back and joints between cabinets and run the tile
  33. just past the front edge.
