- Smoke rises. Don't fight Mother Nature.

- I have a Jenn Air downdraft range. It works OK, but does not pull all
- the smoke into the vent. It is noisy. It seems obvious to me that a
- much more powerful (and noiser) fan is necessary to pull smoke down
- than to push it sideways. If/when I redo it, I'll put a hood over the
- range and vent the smoke out through the wall (or ceiling, if the range
- winds up on an island or in a penninsula).
