- That hasn't been established. There IS a significant correlation between
- Alzheimer's disease and aluminum deposits in the brain. I know of no studies
- that have tried to check for a correlation between exposure to aluminum and
- aluminum deposits in the brain. Obviously, if you never come in contact with
- aluminum, you won't get aluminum deposits. However, beyond a very small dose,
- it's not clear that increasing exposure will affect that amount of deposits at
- all. An alternative explanation of the correlation is that whatever genetic
- defect makes one more susceptible to Alzheimer's is responsible for increasing
- the amount of aluminum deposited in the brain. In brief: Correlation does not
- imply causality.
