  12. There's been some traffic here lately which I can't
  13. help but respond to:

  15. First, on the dining database posted by Saumya Meattle:

  17. Who would believe any list that gave the Sawmill (OK steakish
  18. sort of place) and Cafe Jacoulet (the best Pasadena restaurant
  19. of all time) the same rating?  Jacoulet shouldn't be on the
  20. list in any case; it's been closed for at least 1 1/2 years.

  23. Secondly, on the topic of breakfast:

  25. I also endorse the Omlette Parlor on Main in Santa Monica.
  26. It's an institution.

  28. The tip (Thanks Howard Arthur Faye!!!) that Campanile serves
  29. breakfast is a revelation.

  31. On the topic of Pasadena breakfasts:

  33. Pieter Hazawindus starts out fine when he lists Birdie's,
  34. but things deteriorate from there.  I have never liked anything
  35. at the Konditori, and if Pie and Burger represents Toledo
  36. cuisine, I might be happy to visit, especially for breakfast.
  37. The cinnamon and pecan rolls are great, and the only reason I
  38. don't go there more often is they don't serve breakfast very late
  39. (I think they close at 10 or so Saturday, which is ridiculous.)
  40. and it's hard to get in (always a very good sign).

  42. I recommend to Gaylin Laughlin to progress past the Old Town
  43. coffee and brioche and try the chocolate/fig French toast.

  45. One last breakfast tip:

  47. The best croissants in Pasadena are at Patticakes at the
  48. corner of Allen and New York.
