- Hello Elizabeth I saw your message and wish to add my piece to
- the issue that is often debated by computer educators
- everywhere, should the computers be in a lab or in the
- classroom.
- To start with I am a primary teacher in this situation I am a
- big supporter of computers in the classroom. I feel this is
- the only way to use them as part of the curriculum rather than
- separate to. However in the secondary school where computers
- are a subject then a lab seems to be the way to go.
-
- If you had some computers in your classroom you could
- involve you students in a range of on and off computer tasks.
- This could be a project such as a magazine or for creative writing
- I know of one secondary teacher who used a computer in the
- classroom in this way.
- I would think that if you want to use the computers as part of your
- class rather than in a lab then give it a go. I think the
- rewards will be worth it.
- cheers
- David
