- Hi George. Actually, we have had very little criticism. This is an
- alternative to the regular junior high school program. Students applied to
- get in -- that way we don't have to deal with a lot of criticisms. We have
- 60 students all in the same classroom . We also have a wide range of skill
- levels and social backgrounds. We have tried to make this as much like a
- regular classroom as posible (in terms of discipline, skill level, etc)
- except we have a multi aged grouping. It sounds confusing, but it realy
- isn't.

- Our superintendent had heard about a dsimilar program in Surrey, BC. Once
- he had chosen the team of four teachers involved, he sent us out to Surrey to
- investigate. We have maintained much of what they are doing, but we have
- made a lot of changes. Our program is therefore unique. We started planning
- last January and we started our first class in September. It has gone
- remarkably well. Most of the students seem to have adjusted well. We had
- three of our grade sevens drop out after two months, but we expected that
- would happen.
-
- What would you like to know about our program? Talk to you later. John
