  11. Hi I have been reading your posts in the Environmental Watch of James Bannan.
  12. I enjoy reading all of them and our Kindergartners and their teacher, Mary,
  13. are very excited about participating. We have noticed that you have used a
  14. greeting and sign off in Mohawk. Are you Mohawk?  
  15. You have used a Mohawk greeting in many of your ╥posts╙. The second graders at 
  16. Discovery School are learning about native americans. One group is finding out 
  17. about Mohawks. When I mentioned that you use a Mohawk greeting, they wondered
  18. if you knew more about Mohawks and maybe you could answer a few questions.
  19. Here are a few questions: What kind of celebrations do you have? How do you
  20. celebrate birthdays? How many people can fit in a long house? How young can
  21. you be to hunt? What states do Mohawks live in? What kind of ceremonies do you 
  22. have when people die? Did Mohawks ride horses? What kind of stories do you
  23. know? 
  24. If you can help with these questions the students and I would be very
  25. grateful. Each class is participating in a project of "tele-letters" as they
  26. call it. Thanks for your participation. We are comparing native american life
  27. pre-Europeans, from four corners of this country. We have several children in
  28. this school who are Spokane and Pend Oreille and one parent who works for the
  29. Indian Health Center has visited with a baby on a cradle board and dressed in
  30. traditional dress. The children were fascinated. I h ave included 1/3 of their 
  31. questions, so we could have more if you can help.
