  11. Hi.  I teach calculus-based physics to high school seniors here
  12. in Virginia (area code 804).  My high school students have
  13. email accounts on the VA-PEN network (connected to INTERNET).
  14. I do not know if any of my students would be interested in
  15. answering questions posed by a group of younger students, but
  16. still feel free to contact my students with your idea(s).
  17. My students (high school seniors) also do mentorships after
  18. school to explore a career interest.  they work with engineers,
  19. in emergency rooms, with architects, etc. They work at NASA, at
  20. a physics accelerator facility in Newport News, in medical
  21. research labs, etc.
  22. My students are quite "bright" (not geniuses) and some might be
  23. interested in "helping" younger students via email.
  24. Many of my students wish to major in engineering or physics or
  25. medicine.

  27. There are also other schools in the state of Virginia at which
  28. some high school students have INTERNET email accounts.

  42. One reason I am "sharing" these specific names is that I am
  43. also trying to encourage my students to see the "utility" of
  44. email and trying to encourage them to use it in a productive
  45. manner.  I HAVE NOT shared with them that I have "given out"
  46. their addresses so I do not know if they will respond to any
  47. request you have of them.  Some will respond I am sure; many
  48. will be happy to have "new pen pals".
