  18. May I suggest that you contact the European schools participating
  19. in a project called "aquadata". Its objective is to let students
  20. measure water pollution in a neighboring river and collect the date
  21. in a central database. In Germany about 100 schools are helping to
  22. collect data.
  23. The learning content is, how to handle the chemical measurment
  24. equipment, how to measure, how to format and transfer data into
  25. the database, how to retrieve specific data, how to do statstical
  26. calculations with selected data, how to interpret the calculations,
  27. how to draw conclusions and general judgements from the calculations.

  29. A side effect will be, that a river pollution map for Germany will
  30. come out at the end.

  32. In the other countries in Europe the participation is not quite as
  33. strong, since only in Germany a scientific association (Verband
  34. deutsher biologen) is supporting the project financially.
