Hiya Shawn!
SD> Excuse it if you recieved a blank message before this one.
SD>Actually
SD>I am rather short sighted. The state at least thinks that way
SD>because
SD>thay won't give me a drivers licience.
Hmm is that a loss for you? Like where you live is a car sort of essential? Where I live there's plenty of public transport so I don't really need a car... Or a license!
SD> I am mostly on the 2-meters 144-148 Mhz. I was on
SD>10-meters for a
SD>while before I had to give the rig I had borrowed back. I am
SD>unable to
SD>build my own equiptment because of me sight and I do not have
SD>the proper
SD>equiptment needed to build radios. My mother is also a Ham her
SD>call is
SD>N0PEV and mine is N0PEU. We studied and took the test at the
SD>same time.
SD>Anything else you wish to know?
Yeah 2m is the first band I want to get into, if I can ever afford the equipment. I like the higher frequency bands because the antennas are more compact... Also you can use FM instead of AM or SSB. I think I mentioned my little 10GHz "Gunnplexer" link before. Anyway one of these days I'll get around to studying and taking the test!
