  16. I read an interesting article the other day. In terms of percentage, 
  17. the U.S. murder rate peaked in the 1920's and 30's. It dropped quite 
  18. a bit in the 40's and 50's and started to slowly rise in the 60's 
  19. and is still slowly rising overall (there are ocassional dips in the 
  20. year to year report). However we have yet to exceed the murder rate 
  21. in the 20's. So yes the murder rate has gone up in the last 30 years 
  22. and no it has not gone up in the last 60 years. Simple? <grin>
