  17. What we have here (again) is a basic lack of communication, due to the non-
  18. specific nature of the english language.

  20. Marriage:  1.  A government-recognized contract.
  21.          2.  A religious/social institution.

  23. In regards to marriage as defined by #1, I believe that any two
  24. consenting, adult people should be able to engage in a LEGAL, binding
  25. marriage contract for reasons of ease of holding title to property,
  26. paying taxes and receiving insurance benifits, i.e. the LEGAL side
  27. of marriage being just that, a LEGAL contract, recognized by the government.

  29. (What those people do or do not do, in the privacy of their boudour, is
  30. not the government's, the neighbor's, the religious right or the liberal
  31. left's BUSINESS.  Period.  You should NOT attempt to legislate morality.

  35. In regards to marriage as defined by #2, let your concience be your guide,
  36. and stop trying to impose your morality on other people who do not wish
  37. to be imposed upon.  Live and let live. Forgive, love thy neighbor, and
