  14. I am happily using binutils-2.0 version of ar and ld on a sparc
  15. running 4.1.3 and I'd like to move my environment over to a
  16. Dec 5000/240 running ultrix 4.3.  Gcc and gdb are running no problem.
  17. However,  I can't get ar to produce a working version.  The configuration
  18. script doesn't produce a makefile in the binutils subdirectory.  After
  19. hande compiling ar use the Makefile.in I get a version of ar that runs
  20. but produces archive files that consist of the ascii line
  21. !<arch>
