- First, the details:
-
- epoch 4.2 compile with gcc 2.2.2 (haven't tried 2.3.1 on it yet),
- running on a SPARC 2, SunOS 4.1.1, with X11R5.
-
- I seem to have run into a memory leak somewhere. Or maybe it is just
- obscene memory usage. I don't expect to see a fix for this anytime
- soon, but I figured that I would let you people know what I am seeing.
-
- Now the story:
-
- I run epoch all the time. More specifically, I leave it running for
- as long as I am logged in (long periods of time, > 1 week to say
- the least). I have no need to quit and restart epoch, since I am
- using the gnuserv package with it. For the sake of background
- information, I constantly run mh-e and lighbrite, plus I intermittently
- run gnus. I also find myself running any number of C editing sessions
- under gnuserv/epoch. What I have found is that after a longer period
- of time, epoch's memory usage has climbed to between 7 and 10 MB!
- This is some pretty serious memory usage.
-
- So I guess my question is, has anyone else seen this?
