- Hello,
- I'm currently using epoch & emacs on a Sparc station.
-
- Since a couple of weeks I'm able to work from home via modem
- connection.
-
- Now I wonder if it is possible to build up a similiar environment
- like epoch on my home PC.
- For those who are interested, I consider using Turbo-Vision as a
- convenient window interface.
-
- The main problem that shows up in this respect : Is it possible in
- emacs to switch between different buffers without actually
- redisplaying them.
- You see, I may have buffers of some tens of kbyte, which should only
- be transmitted only once. (otherwise it is too slow).
-
- So, what do I want ?
-
- If I switch to another buffer (C-k b), the emacs should
- only send an acknowledge string, whatsoever it may be, and then
- continue.
-
- This is quite fundamental, if there is no solution, the whole thing
- has to be abandone.
-
- Any ideas are welcome.
