  12. I have just sent to gnu-emacs-sources/gnu.emacs.sources patches to
  13. make GNUS a hierarchical newsreader.  What I mean by that is that when
  14. you start up GNUS for the first time, rather than showing you all the
  15. newsgroups, it will just show one line for each top-level hierarchy
  16. ("soc", "rec", "alt", etc.).  You can then unsubscribe to the whole
  17. hierarchy with one keystroke, or you can type space to "explode" the
  18. hierarchy into all the second-level groups and hierarchies (e.g.
  19. "comp" will explode into "comp.sys", "comp.os", "comp.compilers",
  20. etc.).

  22. I know, according to the MAILINGLISTS file distributed with emacs
  23. 18.57, I'm not supposed to send this message, but I doubt they had
  24. info-gnus-english in mind when they wrote that.
