  13.             GNU EMACS PATCHES FOR VMS

  18.     These are a set of patches which makes VMS work a lot
  19.     better. Among the additions and changes are:
  20.  
  21.         - DECWindows interfacing
  22.         - Pseudo-ttys
  23.         - Subprocesses a la UNIX
  24.         - Networking a la UNIX
  25.         - Better handling of VMS files and directories,
  26.           with completion of both file names and directories.
  27.         - Display of 8-bit characters (I've use the works of
  28.           Howard Gayle.)

  35.     This set of patches is around 1Mb worth.

  37.     To be able to apply the patches in this kit, you need the UNIX
  38.     patch for VMS. You may get it by adding the following line to
  39.     your message:

  43.     That kit is also available on most VMS archive sites.

  45.     Also, these patches are a continuously evolving project. Bug
  46.     fixes and further enhancement are provided as soon as possible.
