- on Document Analysis and Recognition to be held on October 20 - 22, 1993
- at Tsukuba City Center, Tsukuba Science City, Japan.

- The conference is sponsored by the International Association for Pattern
- Recognition(IAPR) Technical Committees 11 and 10 and International
- Graphonomics Society(IGS). This conference is the truly international
- forum for identifying, encouraging and exchanging ideas on research,
- development and novel applications of document related systems and
- technologies. The topics that will be addressed include, but are not

- PRESENTATIONS:
-
- The conference will include several invited talks and oral and poster
- presentations. Posters with a demonstration are considered upon requests
- at the paper submission. All presentations will be in English.

- PAPER SUBMISSION:
-
- Papers should describe original and unpublished works. Those who wish to
- present a paper are requested to submit four copies of a double-spaced,
- A4-size, full-paper manuscript by February 15, 1993 to Prof. Y. Nakano at
- the address shown below. The manuscript should be provided with all necessary
- figures and tables. The first page of the manuscript should contain a title,
- affiliation and mailing address of the contact author, and the second page
- should include the title, 200-word abstract, and keywords. Accepted papers
- for presentation will be published in the conference proceedings. The length
- of the paper in the proceedings will be six pages (approximately 5000 words
- including figures) for long papers and four pages (3500 words) for short and
- poster papers. We do not review papers submitted by telefax and E-mail.

- ABOUT TSUKUBA SCIENCE CITY:

- Tsukuba Science City is a well-known academic and high-tech area with more
- than 80 national research institutes. It is a spacious and pleasant place
- where beautiful lakes and mountains are within one hour drive distance.
- Things, including foods and accommodations, are much less expensive there
- than in Tokyo. Tsukuba is located about 60 Km north from metropolitan
- Tokyo and about 40 Km west of Narita International Airport. It takes only
- one hour by highway bus from JR Tokyo Station.

- fee for students are being planned and inexpensive accommodations are being
