  18. Xloadimage version 3.03 is now available for anonymous ftp from
  19. export.lcs.mit.edu /contrib/xloadimage.3.03.tar.Z.  This is primarily
  20. a bug-fix release -- it fixes all of the known common bugs.

  22. Version 3.03 contains the following bug-fixes and enhancements over
  23. version 3.01:

  25. * JFIF-style JPEG images are now supported.
  26. * Color PCX files are now supported.
  27. * -zoom now works with 24-bit images.
  28. * -rotate now works on all systems at all multiples of 90 degrees.
  29. * A bug in root window handling for DEC and NCD servers has been
  30.   fixed.
  31. * A bug in -normalize has been fixed.
  32. * Several bugs in -smooth have been fixed.
  33. * Several bugs in -merge have been fixed.
  34. * The man page now gives correct information on slideshows.

  36. If you do not have ftp support I can email copies, but I would prefer
  37. not to do so as the shar files total approximately 650k (the JPEG
  38. loader is most of the increased size).  I'm working on a way to reduce
  39. the transmission requirements but they will be significant
  40. in any case.
