  13. has the horespower to support my dissertation research

  30. This is a classic GRiD in the black magnesium case.  It's been an
  31. excellent computer --- both for portable and desktop use.  On the
  32. road, I use it as a regular laptop with the built-in keyboard and
  33. mouse and at home I plug in a full-size keyboard and use it as a
  34. desktop.  It has been more than powerful enough for any use so far
  35. (including large spreadsheets, APL II, C++, and TeX), but I am
  36. starting dissertation research on a Ph.D. in computational mathematics
  37. and I will need more speed for that.
