- My vote for best lunch in Arlington? The Grill in Park III Restaurant, in #3
- Crystal Park, Crystal Drive, Crystal City. It may or may not last long, but
- here is the scoop for now. As I understand it, Charles E. Smith built the
- restaurant on the top floor of the #3 Crystal Park building as a private club,
- sold memberships, etc. Never sold enough to make it work, opened it to the
- limited public (read that, elite or $), didn't break even, opened it to the
- general public (read that most of us who are echo junkies, except perhaps you in
- case I offended you), and that isn't working real well. The place is beautiful
- (perhaps the best looking restaurant in Arlington, with certainly one of the
- best views), very high ceilings, very private dining areas or open and spacious
- rooms depending on your choosing, top floor overlooking National Airport and the
- river and the Washington Mon. and the Capitol, etc), high prices at night. In
- the Grill (read that bar area) lunch is $4.95 all you can eat: salad, soup, a
- cold lunch (define that sandwiches you make yourself), two hot vegetables and
- two hot lunches. This isn't Safeway salad bar, folks. It is delicious. They
- now even give you a card where if you buy 6 lunches, the 7th lunch is free.
- Still few people. They don't advertise. Their phone is (703) 979-PARK. Don't
- bother to call for reservations, but try it and let me know how you like it...
