  12. Well, it has only been a week or so since I released xfig 2.1.5, but there
  13. were some pretty major bugs so I have just released version 2.1.6.
  14. TransFig has also been updated because of bugs.  I will follow with a separate
  15. announcement for it.

  19. xfig 2.1.6 is available on export.lcs.mit.edu in /contrib/R5fixes/xfig-patches/
  20. xfig.2.1.6.tar.Z.  Be sure to set binary mode when transferring.

  22. There is also an incremental patch file to convert from 2.1.5 to 2.1.6.  This
  23. is in the file /contrib/R5fixes/xfig-patches/2.1.5.to.2.1.6.Z.  You may use
  24. the 'patch' program to automatically apply the changes to your 2.1.5 release.

  26. You also need to get TransFig version 2.1.6.  TransFig contains the post-
  27. processor needed by xfig to convert fig files to one of several output formats,
  28. such as PostScript, pic, LaTeX etc.  The TransFig package is in the file
  29. /contrib/transfig.2.1.6.tar.Z.

  31. Xfig is a menu-driven tool that allows the user to draw and manipulate objects
  32. interactively in an X window.  The resulting pictures can be saved, printed
  33. on postscript printers or converted to a variety of other formats (e.g. to
  34. allow inclusion in LaTeX documents).
