  12. Hi,
  13.   I have compiled X11R5 patch level 17 on an IBM RS6000 running AIX 3.2.
  14. However, I can't see to get the X server to come up successfully. When
  15. I start up xinit, the X server blanks the screen, comes up with the stipple
  16. pattern background with the "X" cursor, and just hangs. When I abort the
  17. server, I see messages on the console like "xinit.. waiting for the X
  18. server to come up". Any clues on what I did wrong? I am using the regular
  19. C compiler (i.e., not bsdcc).
