  32. Actually, BinHex is NOT a compression utility.  In fact, it's the opposite.
  33. The BinHex file format is the Macintosh equivalent of uuencoding.  It's a 
  34. method for encoding a binary file in ONLY printable ascii characters.  Since
  35. each byte of binary code (256 values) is being converted to a printable ascii
  36. character (less than 256 values), it takes more than 1 character to represent
  37. a byte of binary code.  Because of this, BinHex will EXPAND a file rather than
  38. compress it.
