- We're porting an X/Motif app (X11R4/Motif 1.1.1) to an SGI (sys V 4.0.5) and
- are having trouble compiling the source. This app successfully compiles and
- runs on an Apollo/HP and RS6000.
-
- One specific problem seems to be that functions prototyped with XtArgVal (which
- is supposed to be size equivilent to XtPointer, char *, long, etc) generate
- compile errors when invoked with non-XtArgVal types. We have lots of these
- calls and don't necessarily want to go through and edit them all.
-
- Also it seems that literal strings in the calling parameter list are not
- allowed either.
-
- I couldn't seem to find any options on cc that would help (I tried various
- forms of -ansi, -xansi, -prototypes, -cckr etc) and would appreciate any
- help. Surely someone must've ported older code to the SGI successfully.
-
- Unfortunately using gcc is not an allowable option.
-
- thanks.

- steve.
