- Hi,
- I wonder if there are cheap (*) word processors based on X11 that can
- do more than emacs, for example:
- - WYSIWYG, i.e. text attributes like sub/superscript, bold,
- underlined, slanted ...
- - Menue oriented
- - perhaps a common output format (e.g. PostScript)
-
- (*): cheap means free or nearly for free.
-
- It seems that there is strong support for image processing by clients
- that comes with X ("xv", "xloadimage"), but none for WYSIWYG text processing.
- If you have some hints or information or even a ftp-location for such
- a thing, please drop me a mail!
-
- By the way, the availability of such a tool as part of the X11 distribution
- would improve the acceptance of X11 and even of UNIX...
-
- Dennis
