  13. I wonder if there are cheap (*) word processors based on X11 that can 
  14. do more than emacs, for example:
  15.     - WYSIWYG, i.e. text attributes like sub/superscript, bold,
  16.       underlined, slanted ... 
  17.     - Menue oriented
  18.     - perhaps a common output format (e.g. PostScript)
  19.  
  20. (*): cheap means free or nearly for free.

  22. It seems that there is strong support for image processing by clients 
  23. that comes with X ("xv", "xloadimage"), but none for WYSIWYG text processing.
  24. If you have some hints or information or even a ftp-location for such
  25. a thing, please drop me a mail!

  27. By the way, the availability of such a tool as part of the X11 distribution
  28. would improve the acceptance of X11 and even of UNIX...
