  15. After looking at the source, I found that there are only two ways.
  16.  
  17. (1) set the font of the containing panel, *before* you create the list
  18.  
  19. (2) set the font on each item in the list when you insert it.
  20.  
  21. If you do (2), you must batch your inserts with the XV_ATTR_LIST stuff,
  22. as otherwise eternity will come and go and hell will freeze and thaw if
  23. you have more than a few dozen items in your list.  But if you batch it
  24. all up it works well.

  26. It is clear that XView would benefit greatly from the tabbed lists that
  27. Microsoft Windows and OSF/Motif provide.
  28.  
  29. On the other hand, asking for new features in XView is only slightly less
  30. productive than asking for continued support for TNT and NeWS, which amounts
  31. to a cross between necromancy and the wistful longing that people experience
  32. when things of beauty pass from this world and are seen no more upon
  33. Midde Earth.
