- I believe this question has been asked, but I haven't seen it answered which
- surprises me. Certaily most of the OzTeX users out there are working of 72
- dpi monitors (or something close) and the default 300 dpi pk files that come
- with OzTeX just don't look good. Now on to my question:
-
- Believing thata 86 dpi font set will look best on my monitor (which is a 13"
- RGB hi-res), I have used metafont to create some pk files for cmr10 and cmr12.
- Thus I have sizes 86, 95, 104, 124,149, and 179 (86 dpi at different
- magsteps). Now when I preview at actual size, the text is much more readable
- then the default configuration (300dpi). However, I can't zoom in past the
- actual size point. i.e. when my confg is set to 86dpi I can view at full
- size, actual size, and one size in between. Can anyone help me? I can't
- believe people are content with viewing their dvi files at 300 dpi!
-
- I first thought the problem was that I didn't have enough pk files. But
- evidently when you zoom in, OzTeX still only reads the basic pk file (in this
- case the pk86 file). I guess OzTeX only need the higher pk files when you
- explicitly include a \magstep type command in the TeX document (Or am I
- wrong??).
-
- Any OzTeX users out there that can help me?
