- Hmm. The concept of a virtual font has escaped me. I realize that virtual
- fonts perform the map between TeX and postscript, however, I do not know
- when the .vf files are used. I have successfully made the .tfm and .vf
- files using afm2tfm and vptovf. And I know that the .tfm files are used
- by TeX when making the .DVI file. However, when are .vf files used?
-
- When I convert .dvi files to .ps files using DVIPS, the program just
- embeds the .pfb fonts into the file as a header. Where in the whole
- process do .vf files get used?
-
- Thanks
